blogging...

So I have decided that I am not that great at blogging. I am not sure whether I just don't have very much to say or whether I am just not willing to take the time to write it down...but the blog just hasn't motivated me.

However, recently I have been very motivated by photography. In case you didn't know my wonderful husband got me a Nikon digital SLR camera for my birthday about 1 1/2 years ago and this has been my growing passion. I took a few photography classes and now I am learning mostly via books plus lots of trial and error. Lucky for me, I have lots of wonderful people and events around me that make working on photography an easy pastime.

All that being said, I have decided that instead of giving up blogging all together I am going to simply put this blog on hold. I will now try to dedicate my time and motivation to a photography blog that can document the events, people, and hobbies that consume our life. Someday I will probably come back to this forum, so I am not going to delete the site all together, however if you want current details on our life with some photos to match, go to http://dunnphoto.blogspot.com/

I hope you all enjoy this new venture as much as I do and I promise to show a little more commitment this time around!

Green Ideas

We decided early in 2009 that we would make extra efforts to make our lives more energy efficient...to do our part for the planet and our future. So, we started charging cell phones in the car, unplugging power cords when they were not in use, etc. Then this weekend we converted an Ikea storage bench into a docking station for all electronics, making a central location for all charging. Or as Kevan likes to say, we created a "Biz-Hub". Now we can turn off all power during the day to save energy and then turn it on for only short periods on the weekends or when a battery is low on the laptop.
I am not sure what our next "green project" will be, but I am thinking about asking my sister to teach me how to construct rain barrels in the spring? Let me know if you have any good project ideas or tips from your household!
